On Good Friday this year I took one of my best friends, headed down to Monroe Michigan with a spreadsheet and a mission! We had 10 thrift stores we wanted to explore. Overall, Monroe had a lot of offer. Check out the details with reviews and pictures below.

|1 Goodwill Industries- Monroe
|255 N Telegraph Rd Monroe, MI 48162||M-Sat: 9-8pm
This was our first and favorite store! The store was amazing! They had tons of brand-new
Target items. This was a very clean and large Goodwill. Farhyn found this cute romper, she has been looking for a romper for a while now. I got a few shirts and some pants for hiking. We spend almost an hour here. I would have spent more money but I wanted to visit other stores.
|2 Salvation Army Thrift Store- Monroe
|1525 Mall Rd
Monroe, MI 48162
This was the cleanest and most organized Salvation Army that I have ever been to.
Since it was Good Friday, they had a Scavenger Hunt. They hid Easter Eggs around the store with coupons inside. Farhyn and I ended up not buying anything from here…. but we did have fun going around and hunting for eggs.
|3 Second Chance Boutique
| 50 S Monroe St
Monroe, Mi 48161
| Sun & Wed : Closed
M,T,Th, Fr, Sat: 10-5PM
This store was great! It is located in downtown Monroe. They had lots of stylish clothes & a $1 rack. I got these awesome green dress pants for only $1. They used colored tags to offer discounts based on how long an item has been in the store. These adorable polka-dot Gap jeans and American Eagle blazer were $4 and $5 dollars, with the 50% discount. They had a pretty fabulous shoe section as well.
|4 The Lark’s Nest
|111 S Monroe St Monroe, MI 48161||M-Th: 10-pm
F & Sun: Closed
This store is also in the downtown areas and we walked here. Unfortunately, this store is closed on Fridays, we could only peek through the windows. It looked like they had a lot of antiques and unique items.
We walked up and down Monroe Street in the downtown areas searching for this address. We called their phone number and it was disconnected. When we finally found the address the building was for sale. It is probably safe to say that they are no longer in business.
|6 Thrift Shop Association
|119 S Monroe St Monroe, MI 48161||M, W, Sat: 10-4pm
Th, Fri, Sun: Closed
This is downtown as well, within walking distance of the others. They had mostly vintage items. There were two older ladies running the counter, talking about their dislike for Donald Trump. We did not buy anything here but we loved their vintage dresses.
|7 Habitat for Humanity ReStore-Monroe
|840 LaPlaisnce Rd Monroe, Mi 48161||T-Sat: 10-5PM|
The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are generally pretty cool. They sell home improvement items and furniture. This one was quite small compared to the Ann Arbor location. They had a nice selection of gallon paint cans for $12 each.
|8 Sauer Furniture & Antiques
|15300 S Dixie Hwy Monroe, MI 48161||M-F: 10-6PM
This place is HUGE! We only had 10 minutes to explore because they were closing early for the holiday. We want to come back and spend some time there. There were so many cool collectibles and furniture. In the way back they had a bargain ‘room’. The ‘room’ was more like a warehouse.
|9 Humane Society of Monroe County Thrift Store
|15649 S Telegraph Rd Monroe, MI 48161||Wed-Sat: 10- 5pm
Adorable location and building. All the proceeds help the Humane Society. The items were all home goods and kind of sparce. Farhyn did find some awesome wall art!
|10 Acts II Closet Resale and Consignment
|2520 N Telegraph Rd Monroe, MI 48162||Sun-M: Closed
We instantly loved this shop -they had a dog out front to greet us. We gathered that this place is run by a Christian family, based on the music they were playing and the name of the store. They had a lot of Antiques mixed with furniture.
